    An opportunity has arisen for a Full-Time Cook within our Care Home

    About Meigle Country House

    Meigle Country House is situated amidst Perthshire's rolling and tranquil countryside a short drive from Dundee and on the boundaries of Perthshire and Angus. The home was completely renovated in 2003 allowing us to blend modern facilities with traditional country style and comfort. We care for elderly adults requiring nursing, residential and respite care in a homely environment.


    The Role

    • Prepare, cook and serve hot and cold meals, as and when required
    • Provide for special dietary requirements where necessary, and take into account the preferences of individual Residents
    • Liaise with the Home Manager when planning / costing menus in order to provide a balanced nutritious diet, making the best use of available fresh foods
    • Supervise and instruct Kitchen Staff Members in the use of all equipment and hygiene procedures, giving help and guidance where appropriate.
    • Maintain accurate records of food supplies, and freezer / fridge temperature
    • Ensure statutory Health and Safety standards in the kitchen and dining areas

    Requirements

    • Catering for residents of 23 bed Care Home
    • Cooking experience / Skills required in busy kitchen
    • Practical working knowledge of food hygeine (training provided)
    • Excellent time keeping
